Coco & I

Your resilience astounds me! Your patience to accept life and to switch gears! You've accepted all of me, Without any baggages of how it ought to be! It's been more than a month! And even though I'm trying to find my ground! As my head wobbles making my feet seem drunk! And atul tries to lighten it up; by telling me, "the processing chip in your head is right now, like an old worn out Intel, so Rest! & Rest! & Rest! Till it speeds up faster than a Mac." And in all our silly jokes; Yesterday, I saw your eyes in excitement glow! As you came running to me with your soft ears pulled back, Telling me, "Mom! I'm home, I'm back!" As though you've conquered the world! Infusing in me the confidence, that everything is fine & taken care of. But, let me tell you, my sweet-pie! "Wherever you go, I too am there!" Though, we may not be connected by an umbilical cord! But our souls are entwined in Love; That's beyond any understanding or words. Yesterday, was the first day I left coco with a dog walker. As Atul, who took more than a months sabbatical, nursing me through dengue and taking care of coco and house needs, had to resume work. I've never left coco with any dog walker in these eight and a half years except for a brief period, when I couldn't walk due to back pain. The way Coco took everything in his stride, my hospitalisation & absence, amazes me. And even his willingness to go for his mornings & evening walks with someone other than me.
