After 15 years of hibernation, I feel an urge to travel light!...By letting out all that, That I in my 'Silence' bottled up inside. Some thoughts, some sketches, pictures & drawings...woven as poetry; the way I look at life.

A Sketch A Day, Keeps The Doctor Away!

Sketching takes away a lot of pressure & stress off ones mind. It's not only meditative, but even therapeutic. My breath becomes still, I have one-pointed focus and my mind is weaned off from pain in those few seconds or minutes. I've noticed on days when I feel more muscle fatigue then usual, sketching is my way to ease off. And especially to sketch Coco, it gives me that breather in life, that there's nothing in the world that can stop me. I feel as if I'm back to my college days, that spirit where impossible is nothing, where we were only allowed in our class after we did our daily 40-50 sketches. Where we would do those quick sketch sitting on the platforms of VT station or Marine Lines, just so that our hands would move freely and all our apprehensions and body consciousness was lost, even when we'd be surrounded by a group of inquisitive passerby who would want to have a peek into those sketch books. Even doing one sketch through this pain to pick up a pen and let it flow on this new sketch pad, which by the way is made from elephant dung, handcrafted makes me feel like that child in a candy shop. . There's this part of being An Artist that makes my everyday mundane so beautiful. A Blessing of having a creative mom who encouraged me to pursue my dreams, as without being able to voice out creatively this journey through this pain would have been gruelling. .
