Charcoal painted fingers...
Scribbled with etchings of life
A Sketch of Love I breathed...
"To make you Pause-inside!"
.
Can art nourish Ones soul, do Words have power to hold; to mould...to caress ones innermost self. How long do we pause. In this insta-age where our screens of eyes are loaded with countless images. What stays etched, bringing awareness to that Breath
.
When I'd study art, I'd take in each stroke. Each colour, texture...as though my fingers were dipped in paint. When I'd read history books & study the artist, be it Vangogh's letters to Theo, his colours or simply how light in a Rembrandt's painting breathes, and the stillness in Vermeer. That nostalgia that art had, where turpentine, charcoals & linseed oil distilled right into my spirit.
.
To me a painting or a sketch holds immense power of this universe to Silence. Does these moments of Silence that breathed life on paper, make you pause, so much so... as though you too become Still, like a painting.
