I’ve painted this for Sofia, five months old, who has been diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy, a terminal illness. A new drug developed by Novartis can save her life with just one dose if administered soon. Sofia’s parents have worked tirelessly to raise the necessary money, but are far short of $2MM + cost, as a community we are asking Novartis to accept the money her parents have raised so far & save Sofia’s life I request artist all over if they wish to participate in painting a bird for Sofia to help this little baby & make people @novartis consider giving a chance to Sofia. I specifically wanted to paint this portrait of Sofia as her eyes are have such light & life, as though she’s seeing right into our hearts with her beautiful spirit. The reason why I painted bluebirds for her is because symbolically they represent Hope, Joy, Happiness & Good-health for ones future & I almost wanted to embrace her with such prayers for a long life. I wish to donate this painting to help her in the cause towards health.
